We don't take many holidays by the sea and this is reflected in the fact that I don't have a large portfolio of seaside photographs. Those that I do have show that when we do visit the coast, it's often in winter. A quiet winter beach holds far greater attraction than one that's covered in bodies during the summer. And there's something more exciting about the sea in winter.
